More about the VTAC
VTAC resources directly serve veterans involved in the Justice System due to trauma, mental health disorders, and substance abuse. The Veterans Treatment Court recognizes that punishment alone may not be the most effective path towards breaking the cycle of crime for those who have served our nation. By incorporating therapy dogs into the equation, this innovative program acknowledges that healing can come in many forms. The integration of therapy dogs into Veterans Treatment Court programs not only uplifts the spirits of those involved but also promotes a sense of camaraderie within the community. These four-legged companions serve as steadfast allies, reminding us all that second chances are possible. By supporting these men and women we keep veterans out of jail – preventing the loss of one of our nation’s greatest assets to our families and community. Not to mention, all the while, saving tax dollars for the American public.
